Ciao a tutti! Claudio refuses to cooperate with the camera!

Hello, ladies! This little peanut continues to amaze me each day. He is becoming more adorable and mischievous. I can’t believe that he is already 12 months old. As you can see on these pictures, my fur baby is annoyed with the camera. He normally loves to take pictures, but not this time.

Father’s Day!
I hope this new week is bringing you relaxation and joy. In our house, this past weekend, we celebrated Father’s Day with a great brunch at my hubby’s favorite spot in town. My husband is a huge soccer fan, so, with the World Cup currently on, he is in heaven. He is trying his best not to miss any games.

How many of you are following this event? As you know, I’m a huge soccer fan. I have been diligently, but without any enthusiasm, following the games. Both my native and adopted countries, Italy and USA, did not qualify for the World Cup. The feelings of sadness and frustration are there every time I see a game on TV.
Does your style change as you get older?
This past weekend, I did some shopping and purchased a few  adorable pair of jeans for a great price. I did not feel like this years ago. I was not a huge fan of ripped jeans. It is interesting how much our styles change over time.
As I get older, my style is becoming more simple. I refuse to stand out and look ridiculous. I like to dress more conservatively. Although I noticed, in fashion, that the geographic location makes a difference.
During my visit to Italy last year, I noticed ladies over forty wearing tiny shorts and high heels. As for me, I like to consider the length of the dress, skirts, and how much makeup I’m
going to apply. Also, my objective is to still enjoy the process of dressing up in style, but with more maturity.

Trust me, I do not have any intentions of looking like a granny, but my goal is to look sensational and in-style. Seriously, ladies, we are gorgeous just the way we are.

Question: How has your style evolved over the years?

Cooking with Nunzia!

Every week, I will be sharing my favorite dishes on the blog.

This is our favorite Lemon Meringue Pie!
This is Laura Vitale’s Italian Meatloaf.
Read the labels all the way!
For those of you like me who suffer from food allergies, be sure to read the labels all the way. Last week, as I was shopping at my local grocery store, I purchased some fat-free crackers. Thank goodness I always read the labels. On the package, the manufacturer only put the part about milk and soy in bold print. The rest of the writing stated the following: “manufactured in a facility that processes nuts and peanuts.”
This is crazy. Can they put the whole paragraph in bold? This is serious. Once again, are manufacturers only concerned about wheat and soy?
To all those who have a child or a family member with food allergies, please be sure to read all the labels in bold and fine print.

I will see you on my next update. xoxo N

Somebody, tell me where the time goes? My fur baby is already one year old. It feels like he was just a small puppy yesterday.

We celebrated Claudio’s birthday this past weekend. In between his naps, getting to know our guests, and playing with his little stuffed animal babies, I must say that he had a great birthday.

It was wonderful to have the house full of people, with Spanish guitar music blasting throughout the house. It was a beautiful, joyful, and relaxing atmosphere for our company to enjoy. I realized how nice it is to take the time to celebrate little and big things in our lives. So many of us get so wrapped up in our daily routines that we become antisocial. So, I’m planning on hosting many more parties throughout the year.

I was going to keep this blog post a happy one, solely dedicated to Claudio, but there is a problem that America needs to acknowledge. We have been bombarded with so many bad things happening in our world. For reasons not fully understood, the suicide rate in America is raising. Sadly, just last week, we lost Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain.

Today, I have decided to use my blog as a platform to help people who are suffering alone in this world from depression. So many people are struggling with sadness, hopelessness,  and are suffering in silence. Many of them don’t know how to relieve that awful pain.

Sadly, we have learned that most people who ended up committing suicide had seen a doctor. There is an urgent need to train general practitioners and pediatricians on how to recognize early signs of depression. They need to be well equipped to understand and diagnose this condition.

Many doctors nowadays are super busy, with only a very short amount of time to dedicate to their patients. Typically, a doctor only has about five minutes to address all the concerns. Sadly, that short amount of time is not adequate for digging deep and discussing emotional pain.

If you know someone who has been suffering from depression, reach out to them and be available to provide help  if you can. I will see you on my next update. Until then, stay zen and help a friend!

Hello, everyone!
I hope you spent some time outdoors and did some shopping this past weekend. The weather has been hot and beautiful in South Texas. I’m loving how bright and long the days are.
Every Sunday morning, my family and I do a “fitness walk.” Working out five days a week makes me feel happy. Moving our bodies around daily is vital for our physical and mental health.
I have been doing some shopping to upgrade my wardrobe for summer. Shopping is the best method of putting ourselves first, ladies! Also, it is the best way to cheer ourselves up if we have a stressful and difficult week. I read in a fitness magazine that people who really enjoy shopping, like I do, enjoy it because they could be experiencing a “shopper high,” just like a runner’s high.
Now, on a different shopping note, I’m happy to inform you that my new coveralls just came in the other day. Nothing tops that unwavering feeling of being excited to wear what you bought on your next outing. I wore my coveralls over the weekend for a lunch date with my hubby. Then, after lunch, we took a walk by the water. It is getting super hot here in Texas, and these coveralls kept comfortable and cool. I felt like I was wearing PJ pants. I have two more pairs coming this week. I highly recommend them. I will share the colors with you.
Thanks for reading my blog. I will see you soon! Please share a picture of your favorite coveralls!  Happy Monday to all!

I hope everyone had a restful Memorial Day weekend! On Monday, we went for a long fitness walk by the water. On our way back, we made a stop at the beach to let Claudio, our fur baby, play in the water.

It took Claudio a second to figure a few things out in the water. As we were watching him play, we were able to witness such a tender moment, as he tried to lift his paws up high to walk in the water. He was also very happy to watch the fish jump around him.

I can’t believe my fur baby is going to be one year old soon. Where does the time go?
This is my new look! I will post more pictures on my next update.
Last week, as I was browsing Instagram, I noticed that Hilaria Baldwin posted the cutest overalls by Revolt available on Amazon for a great price. I will post the link. I already bought a pair, and I’m going to order one in a khaki color. They are super comfy to wear. I will do a photo shoot this weekend of my coveralls so you will be able to see how beautiful they fit. A big “thank you” to Hilaria, and congratulations on the birth of her fourth baby, Romeo!
Okay, now we are switching subjects to talk about a recent event that has left many of us surprised and speechless. Just a few months ago, Roseanne Barr became a star again, when her television show was successfully brought back with high ratings on ABC after two decades. However, this past Tuesday, Ms. Barr was abruptly fired after posting an inappropriate tweet. The president of ABC entertainment, Channing Dungey, issued the following statement: “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values.”
Ms. Barr apologized, but it is apparently too late. The damage has already been done.
I will close with this: What the world  needs now is love! ❤️

Hello, my friends!
I hope all of you are having a fantastic week. How may of you are enjoying this incredible weather?
Have you read my latest article? I have not yet started a new one, but I will soon. I’m just taking a short break to relax before I start writing.
Okay, here we go! Some major changes are in store for me. I’m getting a new look this week. It’s going to be a big change. I was actually inspired to go super dark by Meghan Markle’s hair color. I thought she looked stunning at the wedding.

No, I’m not cutting off my hair, but I will go from blonde highlights to just black. Yes, you heard me, black!

It is time for a change. I have had highlights in my hair for a long time. My husband, Patrick, is super happy, because he always loved my dark Mediterranean look.
Ladies, changes are great. So if you have been struggling with the idea of changing and getting a new look for summer, go for it! You have my blessing. Be sure to share some pictures!
Before you undergo any changes, here are a few tips for your stylist. They will guarantee that you never leave the salon with a not-so-glamorous haircut again.
Communication is a must. Be sure to discuss and specify what length you desire, when the hair is dry. Ask questions to be sure that your stylist understands what you are looking for. Remember that a picture is worth a thousand words. Never tell your stylist that they can do whatever they want with your hair, unless you mean it. I always bring a few pictures on my phone to show Meghan, my awesome stylist.
If you are planning on cutting it short, or changing your style, be sure you know what products you will need to maintain your new look.
Now we are going to shift gears and talk about the royal wedding!
I will share some of my favorite pictures of the wedding, and also a few of my favorite guests, such as George, Amal, and Oprah, of course.

How may of you watched it live? I feel like I’m the only person on Earth that was unable to do that on Saturday morning. No words can describe this beautiful, former Hollywood actress and media most-loved, Meghan Markle, now Duchess of Sussex. She looked stunning!

Prince Charles walked his future daughter-in-law down the aisle in her father’s absence. According to the media, her father, for various and not very glamorous reasons, did not attend the wedding. Sadly, some very negative things about Meghan’s family have been reported in the media in the past few days since the ceremony.
To learn more about Meghan’s style, be sure to follow this blog: http://meghansmirror.com/
I will post pictures of my new purchase soon!
