Hello…hello!

Just last month, I submitted an article about seasonal changes that I co-wrote with a wonderful psychologist, Dennis Ramos. As many of you already know, I enjoy writing about wellness and mental heath.

The Friday before Mother’s Day, one of the editors at Thrive Global, Zoe, e-mailed me to let me know that my story had just gone live. What a great way to start the weekend, with a new published article under my belt! I will post a link for you to read it.

I hope all the mothers, including fur babies’ moms, had a wonderful Mothers’ Day last weekend. My guys at home spoiled me with beautiful gifts and a great brunch. Then, I ended up spending the rest of the day relaxing, without feeling guilty about not being productive for a day.  For me, in order to stay balanced and happy, it’s important to disconnect and make time for me and the family.

In our society, people have forgotten how to relax and enjoy life. Everyone seems to be on the go all the time. Everywhere you go, you notice people are constantly engaged with scrolling through social media pages on their phones to see what is going on in other peoples’ lives.

Question: can we be happy if our minds are constantly engaged somewhere else? That can become extremely exhausting, stressful, and unhealthy. It may put a strain on us and others. There are plenty of other areas in life that need our attention. Admittedly, for me to feel happy, I need to be present in the moment.

To help you relax, make some time for reading at your favorite book store. I have been reading both Flow and In the Moment magazines. You will enjoy all the mindful articles and activities.

Question: Do you feel more relaxed after reading my blog? Share your thoughts with us.

I hope you have a wonderful week!  Don’t forget to schedule “me” time. Catch me on my next update.

P.S.  On Mother ‘s Day, my beloved Juve won another scudetto. Who is counting how many we have already won? Not me. However, if some of you insist to know the facts, this is our 7th consecutive scudetto in Serie A.

Hello, bianconeri!

Forza Juve! XoXo

Hello, friends! The topics for this week are running shoes, frustration, and Claudio!

For the past three weeks, I have made several attempts to shop for the perfect running shoes. I’m not talking about finding the perfect looking shoes, but finding the right pair that will provide me with comfort while running.

I have been shopping at a specialty store for athletes. Sometimes it takes that right person who not only has the knowledge, but also cares, to find you the right shoe. About two years ago, when I needed a pair of running shoes, I was fortunate enough to find a specialist that was able to help me find the right pair of Brooks!
To evaluate my last pair of shoes that I purchased, I went running this week and, withing minutes, I felt a pain on the right side of my foot. Not fun. The bottom line is, to prevent injuries like tendinitis and stress fractures, it’s important to wear the proper shoes while running. Every runner knows that it is impossible to complete a nice run without the perfect shoes. It has been a personal and ongoing challenge to find shoes that fit well.
Anyway, moving on to Claudio Bear, my sweet little fur baby keeps on growing! He is just about 11 months old. I felt a bit on edge on Friday, because Saturday was his first day at doggy day care, but we did our research and picked a great place with outstanding reviews. Socializing your fur baby with people and other dogs is a must at this young age.
I’m sharing with all of you our delicious chocolate chip oatmeal cookies I made tonight!

An update for my fellow Juventus fans. Coppa Italia will be on Wednesday. My team will face Milan in the final. I will  keep you posted. Forza Juve!!!!!!

Until my next update, namaste.

XOXO

Hi, everyone! As many of you already know, I like to share my favorite things on my blog: makeup, shoes, clothing, purses, books, etc. You name it!On my blog today, I’m going to share my favorite book I have been reading. It is by New York Times bestselling author Maria Shriver. The book is called I’ve Been ThinkingReflections, Prayers, and Meditations for a Meaningful Life. It is just about us juggling different roles and wearing different hats each day. It is a great book that will help anyone learn how to stand strong when life throws a curve ball. Maria herself managed, with grace and dignity, to catch a few curve balls in her life.

This book can help anyone who is looking forward to moving on in life. I also love the prayers at the end of each chapter.

Trust me on this one. You are going to love it.

No matter how busy I am, I always try to make time for reading at home or at Barnes & Noble. While I am at Barnes & Noble, I always like to look through Flow magazine. I love all the activities, and this mindful magazine helps me slow down and press the “reset” button in my brain. I love all the illustrations, and how those beautiful, colorful stickers help remind us to take time for ourselves and do nothing once in a while.

The activities in Flow will inspire you to pick up a pen and get busy. We are so surrounded by cell phones and laptops that we often forget the last time we picked up a pen or pencil to draw a picture or send a handwritten note to a friend.

Speaking of mindfulness, our house is a mess because we are remodeling. The worse part about remodeling is all the waiting. It is like someone is trying to teach me how to be patient. You wait for the materials to come in, you wait for the person to take the measurements, you wait for the contractors to install, and it just seems to take forever. I’m looking forward to having the house look like a home again, but I am beginning to appreciate the exercise in patience I am getting.

Catch me on my next “favorite things” update!

Hi, friends! Today, we are going to talk about food allergies and food labels.
Every year, millions of Americans have life-threatening reactions to food. As many of you already know, I suffer from a peanut/ tree nuts allergy. My mission is to help people with food allergies, especially those who are newly diagnosed, by providing them with support and the latest studies.

“GLUTEN FREE”

Let’s talk about gluten. My heart goes out to those who suffer from Celiac disease, or simply have a gluten intolerance. It’s not easy for them, to say the least.

Having said that, am I missing something? Is gluten intolerance the only food allergy on our planet? Every time I go to the grocery store, I notice that seemingly every item has “gluten free” written in large letters on the front of the package. However, I recently purchased a multivitamin at my local drug store and, when I got home, I noticed the phrase “Processed in a facility that processes tree nuts” in very small writing. I was frustrated.

Hello! Have we forgotten that there are other deadly allergies?! Why do I need a magnifying glass to see whether a product contains, or was processed in a facility with, peanuts and tree nuts, but I can tell if it is gluten free from a mile away?In my opinion, it’s all about marketing. Gluten-free foods are a huge trend right now. So, to ensure that a product is sold fast, companies are throwing a big “gluten free” label on the front of the package.

There is a lot of work to do. Through Thrive Global and social media, my voice will be heard. I will keep you posted.
