Cozy Season
I’m truly loving this cozy weather. We finally had a cold front in South Texas. Hello, hot tea and Pumpkin Spice Latte. I missed you! When the weather is cold, I always feel like cooking and baking.
Can you believe that Halloween and Thanksgiving are just around the corner? We went to Barnes and Noble for our Sunday reading and hot cocoa ritual last weekend.
As we were reading, I could hear Halloween songs playing. Before we know it, they are going to be playing Christmas songs. How many of you have already started Christmas shopping? My husband and I have already bought a few gifts.
On a new note, just last week, I was asked to be an ambassador for the Great North, a clothing brand. I guess Instagram modelling is a trend these  days. I will share my first Great North photo shoot with you all.
Sharing goodies
Okay, before you get too excited, let’s talk about my new facial primer. This new product came in my Ipsy bag last month, and I was immediately in love with it. This is a must-have for your makeup bag.
The POREfessional Primer helps reduce wrinkles and puffy eyes. It also helps prolong the wear of your favorite foundation. I feel like it does the job by providing a bit of everything by smoothing and hydrating the skin well.
Before I apply the foundation, I only put on a tiny amount, to smooth, prep, and hydrate my skin. It feels like I am wearing a veil.
I give this product a 5 out of 5 stars.
I hope you have a fantastic week. I can’t wait for you to read my new article, In the Moment.
Until then, be happy and zen. Also, don’t forget to get your flu shot. My husband and I got ours today.
Lots of love from Claudio! ❤️
Until next time.
Best,
Nunzia

A new pumpkin
Today, I chose to run errands wearing a casual outfit. It worked out perfectly, because I have been dying to wear these awesome and super-comfy boots. They are beautiful gifts from my beautiful Jen! So, if you are reading my blog, Jen, yes, I love these boots!
As we are sliding into the season of fall, these gorgeous and breezy days are more cozy and beautiful than ever. Today, I bought the cutest pumpkin for Claudio. When I brought it in the house, my fur baby looked very happy, and started to jump all over it.
Can you believe Thanksgiving is next month? It is amazing how fast the time goes by. That’s why it is very important to be in “the moment,” so you can capture all the beautiful moments that life offers!
You may remember that last year, right around this time, I had a knee surgery to repair a meniscus tear. Just a few months following my surgery, I went back to running. It felt great being able to get on that treadmill and do what I love to do.
Lately, however, I have started to feel pain in my knee again. After another MRI, my doctor said that I am currently dealing with bursitis. I have already received a cortisone shot, and I will be back to see the doctor next month. For now, instead of running, I depend on the stationary bike and elliptical machine to give me a great cardiovascular workout. No excuse, ladies.
We must not stop working out, or we will go insane in this super-stressed society. Set up some “me” time. Try to de-stress, and be kind with yourself and others.
I will see you on my next update.
Best,
Nunzia

Let us be present!
As you all know, self-care is essential for our happiness. Eating well, getting a good night’s sleep, and meditating helps us stay centered, happy, and healthy. Nowadays, it seems almost impossible to stay away from our devices. When I’m not working on a writing project, I truly enjoy unplugging from technology.
Yes, I hear you. In our society, we can’t function without our computers/technology. I get that. However, let us make an effort during our off-time to enjoy some relaxation without having our eyes glued to a device and our brains somewhere else. It’s like staring at a yummy looking chocolate doughnut right after a workout. Even though it looks delicious, keep in mind it is also loaded with trans-fat, which is not that great for us. It takes hard work, daily, to resist the addiction (and it is an addiction) of checking our phones every five minutes, to get updates on the imaginary world of social media..
Social media is a place where everyone is trying to make their life look so perfect. I will be discussing more on the pros and cons of technology and social media in my next article called “In the Moment.” I will keep you posted when my new piece goes live

The joy of organizing the closet
It is one of the best and most mindful activities. Everyone should do it every new season. Getting rid of old clothing in your closet must be one of the best feelings ever. Even if the item is not that old, or if you just have not worn it in a while, it needs to go. Remove it from your closet. The feeling is great. It is like letting go of old memories
My closet cleaning project is almost complete. I have been shopping for new dresses and casual jean skirts to wear with boots during the fall. I will be sharing a few links where you can update your closet without spending a fortune.
Hello, fall
What is it about fall that makes everyone happy? Maybe it is because the holiday season is not that far away.
This cozy season brings us so much fun and beautiful holidays, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving in the US, and my husband Patrick’s birthday. Then, right after Thanksgiving, a new Holiday season begins. I love Laura Vitale’s Pumpkin Spice Latte during this time of year.
I have already started to decorating for Halloween. I know it is still a month away, but this cozy weather makes decorating easy. Just last week, I purchased this adorable scarecrow. When I brought it home, Claudio welcomed this cute little doll to our house with a bark and a gentle push to the floor.
I will be back for my next blog update soon. Until then, smile and stay Zen!

Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Foundation from Estée Lauder

Finding the perfect foundation can be difficult sometimes. There is a lot of makeup on the market. Believe me, it’s a beauty wonderland out there. How many of you, like me, feel like it is Christmas morning when you walk into Sephora and Ulta? I hear you!

Shopping for a new foundation, for those like me who are over forty, can be a bit of a dilemma. If we don’t choose the right makeup, it can make us look older and super tired, simply because some foundations contain ingredients that can actually make our skin age prematurely, especially if you choose a powder foundation. It can clearly emphasize fine lines and wrinkles.

It is important to choose a foundation that will help hydrate your skin. Pick one that is rich with goodies, like anti-aging formula, full of moisturizing ingredients.

Always be sure to test several foundation shades before you buy one. Any makeup counters at your favorite department store will help you decide which shade is the best for you. Always apply a small amount of foundation on your jawline. This is a great way to test if your new foundation matches your skin and neck.

I have been using Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Foundation from Estée Lauder for about a month now. I go through a lot of foundation, because I get bored if I use the same product for an extended period of time. I feel like it just stops working for me, leaving a dull look on my face. No one wants that. So, if you feel like your foundation is making you look blah, by all means, toss it out and invest in a new product. You are going to thank me for that.

Let’s review the product, shall we?

Once you open the small box, you are going to notice this super cute glass bottle, outfitted with a pump dispenser.

This is the perfect foundation for those of you who like a light coverage. It hydrates and brightens up your skin instantly, and it feels extremely light. You don’t feel like you’re wearing a lot of makeup at all. It leaves your skin looking beautiful, radiant, and hydrated.

What I love about this product is that Estee Lauder has included a blend of ingredients that help blur out any imperfections. Let’s face it, we all have those. It’s okay. Due to the inclusion of the anti-aging serum, you will notice less wrinkles and dry lines on your skin. It is totally okay to apply this foundation multiple times to achieve that perfect look/coverage. You will not look overly made-up. What else can we ask for?!

I will definitely purchase this product again. Now, along with Fenty Beauty, this is my second favorite foundation I have found in recent months.

In conclusion, if you are looking for an everyday, natural-looking foundation, this is it. I give this product a solid 4.5 stars out of five.

If you are over forty like me, and have a recommendation for a foundation, share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Until my next beauty review, stay Zen!

Be Present in Life
Many of you already know how much I love to stay Zen and practice mindfulness. In this post, I really just want to reflect on how to slow things down.

It’s hard to believe that we are more than halfway through 2018. Acknowledging that time seems to be moving quickly is also a reminder that there are things we can do to slow it down. As we slow ourselves down, our minds become more relaxed and calm.
Practicing mindfulness will help us focus on what matters most in our lives. It will help us be present and aware of where we are in the “moment.” It will also teach us not to stress about small, unnecessary things.

Meditate. Meditate. Meditate.
This age of technology is stressing us out. We are still in August, but, everywhere I go, I notice stores are already setting up for fall. Can we just learn how to live and stay present in the moment?! Life already goes fast, so let us make an effort to slow things down a bit, shall we?! By doing so, we will feel happier.
The first step to slowing down is noticing that you are rushing. I discuss the importance of breathing in my upcoming article. Throughout your day, make time to give yourself more space to simply breathe.
Practicing meditation brings us a sense of calm, and creates a positive effect on our nervous system. It helps us stay Zen throughout the day. When we slow down, we struggle less. When we struggle less, we feel more relaxed and happier in the present time.
My dear friend, psychotherapist Dennis Ramos, will share more on meditation soon.
My fur baby Claudio!
My fur baby, Claudio, had a surgery last Tuesday to remove his two remaining baby teeth. Dr. Pierson did a super job. Claudio is doing great.
On August 12, we celebrated our one-year “welcome to the family” anniversary with Claudio. I cannot believe it has been a year already.
If you are thinking about adopting a fur baby, be sure to visit your local shelter. So many dogs are in need of a home. Claudio was only eight weeks old when we adopted him. I often ask myself: what was life like without Claudio?!
Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Foundation from Estée Lauder

For now, ladies, I will only share a few pictures of me applying this new product. Stay tuned for a full review of this foundation on my next blog post. Until then, stay Zen, give someone a nice compliment, have lunch with an old friend, don’t be afraid to say “no,” make time for what is important to you, and be kind with
yourself.
My favorite, Mr. Rogers, always said: “You are a very special person. There is only one like you in the whole world. There’s never been anyone exactly
like you before, and there will never be again. Only you. And people can like you exactly as you are.”
