Hi, friends! Today, we are going to talk about food allergies and food labels.
Every year, millions of Americans have life-threatening reactions to food. As many of you already know, I suffer from a peanut/ tree nuts allergy. My mission is to help people with food allergies, especially those who are newly diagnosed, by providing them with support and the latest studies.

“GLUTEN FREE”

Let’s talk about gluten. My heart goes out to those who suffer from Celiac disease, or simply have a gluten intolerance. It’s not easy for them, to say the least.

Having said that, am I missing something? Is gluten intolerance the only food allergy on our planet? Every time I go to the grocery store, I notice that seemingly every item has “gluten free” written in large letters on the front of the package. However, I recently purchased a multivitamin at my local drug store and, when I got home, I noticed the phrase “Processed in a facility that processes tree nuts” in very small writing. I was frustrated.

Hello! Have we forgotten that there are other deadly allergies?! Why do I need a magnifying glass to see whether a product contains, or was processed in a facility with, peanuts and tree nuts, but I can tell if it is gluten free from a mile away?In my opinion, it’s all about marketing. Gluten-free foods are a huge trend right now. So, to ensure that a product is sold fast, companies are throwing a big “gluten free” label on the front of the package.

There is a lot of work to do. Through Thrive Global and social media, my voice will be heard. I will keep you posted.

Hey! Hello, my friends!

It has been awhile since my last post. I have been taking a little time for myself to unplug and relax. I’m also enjoying this gorgeous spring weather. This year, it seems like the cold weather is trying to hang on forever. Help!

On this post, I’m going to share some of the latest items that I bought.
While relaxing and enjoying Spring Break, I took the opportunity to do some shopping. I have been wanting to shop for  some new dressy casual tops/ handbag/shoes for quite some time. It is not always easy to do so. It takes time and some planning, but it is worth it.

I think all of us need to invest in a handbag that makes a statement. You walk in your closet, and there they are! Always lined up and looking all pretty. Whether it is a shoulder bag or a cross-body, depending on the day and the occasion, they are still one of the most practical item in our closets. Today, I’m sharing beautiful and perfect arm candy.

My statement bag, Zara, has arrived. Now I can add it to the rest of my collection.

A statement bag can transform an entire outfit. A new handbag, that matches your shoes and outfits, shows style and sophistication. It makes you feel ready to step on the runway. In my opinion, it is the first thing that people notice.

Investing in a good quality bag is totally worth it. Handbags are one of our many accessories that we value and use often. We need to make sure they go with every outfit we own. When we have the pleasure of finding the perfect one, it can give us a great feeling of satisfaction. It will instantly make an effortless outfit stand out and look glam.

As I was shopping for my new bag, I came across this adorable wallet. How many of us get attached to our old wallet, and try to come up with excuses not to get one?! It almost happened to me. I was attached to my old wallet simply because it was a gift from my husband, Patrick. I kept on putting off buying a new one.

As many of you already know, I’m a runner. Here are my favorite running shoes I bought just over the weekend!  What are some of your favorite running shoes?

Okay, my friends. There is a lot on my to-do list today. My new article should be out in a few weeks on Thrive. I will post a link.

Hey, hey – how are you?

As usual, I must ask: IS IT SPRING YET?! Sorry, but I’m just a total wimp when it comes to the cold. Give me a warm spring or summer day, and I will be happy!

Okay, let’s get down to business. This is the moment I have been waiting for! As I mentioned last week, I ordered my Fenty Beauty foundation. After wearing this product for a few days, I finally collected enough thoughts to share the results with you.

First, if you are shopping online, and you’re not sure which shade will match your skin tone, go to Sephora and have them apply some to your jawline. I also suggest going near a window to double check the shade in a well-lit area. You will need to do so with this foundation.

Flaky, dry skin is not flattering, nor is it a good base for foundation. Before applying this product, especially for those with dry skin, always be sure to prep. Use a primer and moisturizer. This product can be applied with a regular makeup brush or a beauty blender. Here are my favorite hydrating tools, as well as my the brushes that I use everyday, along with the primers and moisturizer.

As always,  when you are anxiously waiting for a package, it always seems to take forever for the mailman to deliver it. I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this product online. I’ve heard/read/seen all the hype about this foundation, but I have gone down this road before. Just recently, I was disappointed with Armani’s foundation.

My first impression of this foundation was that the coverage is medium to full, it feels very lightweight, thanks to its being water-based, and it doesn’t look “cakey” on my face. It doesn’t crease, it does not create wrinkles under my eyes or forehead, and it is easy to apply. It blends amazingly, is undetectable, and it will last most of the day on your face. That makes me happy.

You will notice a beautiful glow on your skin. You will feel like your skin is hydrated and breathing easily under the foundation. This product is definitely in my top five, which is impressive considering how new it is to the beauty industry.

What an unexpectedly great foundation! Kudos to Rihanna. Seriously, Rihanna has set the bar high for other companies. They all need to take notes and realize that a variety of colors really matters for us ladies.

In conclusion, I am truly in love with this product. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Rihanna. Clearly, she did her research and took her time formulating this amazing foundation. She also made it affordable for everyone. How wonderful is that?!

I’m wearing my new foundation on all these pictures!

If you purchased this product, feel free to share your thoughts and leave a comment on my blog. Also, my new cross-body bag just came in today!  On the blog next week, I will be sharing a picture, and I will post a review about this gorgeous bag.

Until then, be happy and grateful each day to be alive on this beautiful earth. Have a great week!

Hello hello, everyone!

Finally, we have some great weather! It feels great getting out and not wearing coats. Please, tell me, is it spring time yet?

Okay, here is the story: for the past few weeks, I have been thinking about purchasing a new foundation. Right now, I feel like my skin is screaming at me and begging me to change. Am I the only one on earth who has the urge to change makeup several times throughout the year?
Although I would rather not wear foundation all the time, I believe a look is not complete without the right foundation. This is not an easy decision, because it requires a lot of research.
We all know we shouldn’t judge people based on their looks, but I have a couple questions for my readers: do you feel more confident when you wear makeup, and do you suddenly get bored with your regular makeup? When you finally get to that point where you don’t even feel like applying it in the morning, well, it is time to change. Raise your hand if you feel like this happens to you.
As for me, and I will name just a few, I have tried endless foundations: Suzanne Somers, Giorgio Armani, Estée Lauder, and many other organic foundation
products.
Remember, before investing in a new foundation, make time to go online and do your research. It is worth your time. Trust me on this. Try to read as many reviews as possible. You are going to notice that people are brutally honest when they review a product, and that is perfectly okay with me.

Finally, today, after struggling back and forth, I made the final decision. I decided to say goodbye to my old foundation. I’m looking for a product that is a little more lightweight than my Suzanne Somers foundation, something that will stay on all day and will not create so many lines on my forehead. I’m also looking for a product that covers up my uneven discoloration, and will not let my freckles peek through.

When I found out Rihanna was coming out with an entire cosmetic line, I was absolutely thrilled. So, I decided to jump on the Fenty wagon and purchase my very own Fenty
Foundation. Buckle your seat belts and stay tuned for my review! It will be on the blog next week.

Take care, everyone! Stay Zen!
