Ciao friends,

I’m back! On October 13th, I had my knee arthroscopy surgery to repair a torn meniscus. It went well. Doctor R. William, a sports orthopedic surgeon, performed the surgery. He did a great job.

Doctors and nurses are angels. Everyone at the hospital did a super job ensuring I was comfortable, happy, and relaxed. The Anesthesiologists, Dr. Harvey and Dr. Griffin, were fantastic.  About two hours after surgery, a physical therapist at the hospital had me walking with his help and a walker down a short hall. I used the walker for the first 5 days.  Now, I only use it in the morning. When I first get up, my leg is super stiff, hence the need for my little friend, the walker. Either that, or I just grab my son or hubby’s arms for balance, and off I go.

I’m getting the stiches taken out this Thursday. Yay for that!  Afterward, I will start physical therapy again. This time, it is going to be a long rehabilitation, but that’s okay. I’m looking forward to it.

I’m going to share more about my surgery in my next article. Stay tuned. I will keep you posted. My latest article was published on Thrive Global right before I went to the hospital.

I hope everyone had a great October weekend! This is my favorite month! Our days are starting to cool down, and I can’t help but feel that holiday excitement. In some places, the air is already crisp.

Yesterday was my first post-surgery outing. My family and I went out to our favorite place by the beach, sat by the water, and relaxed. When we got home, I made our favorite Jalapeno/cheese sandwiches and homemade soup. Then, I finally busted out the cozy socks the nurses gave me at the hospital, and watched my Juve. We won!

“Alla prossima” means “until next time.” Until then, stay happy and don’t forget to smile.
