I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was a very cozy one for us, with lots of rain on Saturday. Well, here I am with another beauty review of my Ipsy bag.

1. Let’s start with the Charcoal Wash Off Mask from Global Beauty. You have my blessing with this one.
Finding the right type of mask can do wonders for our skin, especially during the winter months when our skin seems to look dull and dry.
Just yesterday, I applied a light layer on my face and neck. The results were amazing. My skin looked plump, incredibly soft, with less wrinkles.
I will give this mask 4 out of 5 stars.

2. Now, let’s talk about this nail polish made in Heaven. Why am I so excited about this product? I’ve been doing my own manicures for a very long time.
That means I’ve tested just about every nail polish formula on the market. For this one, I ended up applying three layers to get the dark shade that I wanted.
However, the results were impressive. It lasted about a week without chipping. I will give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

3. As we get older, exfoliating daily is a must. Finding the right product on the market can be difficult because many of them seem to be very harsh for your skin.
This one from Befine leaves my skin looking beautiful and soft, like I had a great night of sleep. I highly recommend this product. I will give it 4 out of 5 stars

4. Sorry, ladies, but I’m not a huge fan of this liquid lipstick. So, I will not be dwelling on this as much. I dislike when lipstick leaves your lips super dry, making you
look like you spent the whole day in a dry desert. I will give this product 1 out of 5 stars.

5. This beautiful highlighter goes on wonderfully and easily on your cheekbones, brow bones, and all the places you’d apply highlighter. I will give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

I will see you on my next update! Have a great Monday!!!

Hello, hello! How is your week going? This is a short blog post!

I am running again! It took long enough, and here I am,  dancing with endorphins  once again. That sense of well-being, freedom and extra energy makes me feel on top of the world.

Now that I am back to working out and burning calories, I figure I can treat myself with a dessert. Here is what I made for my family this week.

Oops, I almost forgot. I am submitting my next article to Ladies Home Journal. I will keep you posted.

Also, my January glam bag review is coming up!  Have a great rest of the week! XoXo

Here are my favorite muffin!

These muffins are super easy to make! If I’m short on time, I use this box.

This is a super easy dinner. This dish takes me back to Italy!

This is my son Patrick favorite pasta salad!

Hello, hello! How is your week going?

I’m going to cover several different topics in today’s post. Here we go!

This new year has been super busy so far.  My week has been unbelievable busy. In our house, we are remodeling – not by choice, of course. Due to improper floor prepping when our house was built, our tiles are currently popping up one by one, especially during these winter months.  This has left our beautiful house looking like this:

Don’t worry, the work is in progress. It will be gorgeous again by March. I will share all the updates on my blog.

I believe this will teach me that things are not always under our control, and that sometimes you just have to go with the flow of things. Nothing can be perfect all the time, but that is okay. The most important thing is to keep the stress level low. Lately, I have discovered that accepting changes  with a positive attitude helps me stay Zen.

Moving on, my appointment on Monday with Dr. Williams, the orthopedic surgeon, went well.  Now I can start running again, and I’m super excited! I miss those long runs with loud music blasting in my ears.  I will see the surgeon again in April.

On a happy note, this  has been such a cold winter for South Texas. Just last week, I ordered this beautiful coat from Ralph Lauren. This baby is scheduled to be here TODAY!!!

Lately, I have been following this beautiful future princess Meghan Markle’s style. I love  to  say that 2017 has been quite a year for Meghan Markle would be an understatement! Since her engagement to Prince Harry, I have been fascinated by her fashion selections. I noticed that she does not wear anything with a floral design. Instead, she loves to wear solid colors. She looks like a royal already. Just recently, she deleted all her social media accounts. She had over three million followers on Instagram!

Here are some of my favorite looks:

She is going to be a beautiful bride. The royal wedding will take place in May.

Before I go, I would like to share this five ingredient  recipe from Iowa Girl Eats. It is super yummy, easy to make, and comforting on a cold day.

I will post a picture a picture of my new coat as soon as I can!  Have a great Thursday, everyone! Stay Zen!  Xoxo

Hi, friends!

Lately, I have been asking myself this question: why does summer go by so quickly, but winter seems to drag
on forever? There are two types of people in the world: those who love winter and those who hate it.
I’m sure there are plenty of people who will always love winter months, but many of us are ready to see the summer
and sunshine again.

Lake Garda! Summer vacation 2017!

The holidays are over, and these gray, cold days do not seem so pretty anymore. As I’m getting older, I notice that winters
seems to be endless. I love how the warm weather tends to bring out the marathon taskmaster in all of us, while winter months
can make us feel the opposite: tired and sluggish. I wish I could hit the gym and run, but I have not been cleared to do so by my orthopedic surgeon.

Not doing enough cardiovascular activities is having a major impact on my energy level. I think I have all the symptoms of “winter tiredness”.
However, lately, with a few lifestyle changes, I have been sweeping this tiredness away.

Here is what is working tremendously for me:

1. Hydration is essential for maintaining my energy level. I love to drink lots of water throughout the day. Also,  I drink a cup of warm water
with lemon and honey in the morning. It is perfect for detoxification. I also love a cup of tea with honey, several times a day.

2. Yoga is an ancient practice that helps me improve both my energy and mood. I was thrilled when my therapist gave me the green light to start doing yoga again.
Have you noticed that, nowadays, various styles and combinations of yoga poses keep emerging? Seriously, you can see thousands of different ones on YouTube.
As always, my friends, I prefer to stick with Yoga with Adriene. I know, we all love her.

3. Get a good night’s sleep and stick to a sleep schedule. Since my surgery, I have been getting plenty of rest to let my body continue to heal my knee,
and I feel great and ready to get up in the morning.

4. Reduce the stress! For those of you who have been following my blog, I always preach about staying Zen. Stress can easily contribute to low energy.

5. Eat healthy foods – stock-up on fruits and vegetables. We all love sugar, and I especially love to bake. However, try to avoid sugary foods and sodas, as they can
give you an energy crash. Instead of soda, I have a glass of water.

When it comes to cooking or baking, do your research. Try finding healthy recipes. Just recently, I discovered this food blogger:
“Skinny Taste.” My family is currently obsessed with her Low Fat Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies. They are out of this world.

Our new obsession!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Be sure to schedule some time for yourselves.

Dear friends,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I’m back with another beauty review!

We usually roll our eyes about this, but just think: throughout our lives, how many of us have spent hundreds of dollars on a hair
strengthener with the unwavering hope that we would be living happily ever after with it? How many of us have felt that, the more money you spend on a
styling tool, the higher your expectations are about its performance during your morning hair and beauty routine?

I know. I hear you clearly!

I was that person until right before Christmas. I have been using a flat iron since the beginning of the millennium. This time, I wanted to purchase a strengthener that I could use
for styling my hair either straight or wavy. Can you believe this flat iron was less than forty dollars?

Hair straighteners can range in price from $30 at the drugstore to $200 dollars in a beauty salon. A good flat iron can last for years, as long as you look after it and make sure you buy the right one.

So, there I was, dreaming of creating those beautiful beach waves you often see on Jessica Alba (who follows me on  Twitter, by the way), or having those amazing waves like you see on Laura Vitale, the gorgeous host of Laura in the Kitchen on YouTube. I was desperate to make my hair look like those ladies.

So, it was time for me to get to work: I asked Meghan, my beautiful hairdresser, to give me some suggestions, and she did!

I’m in love with my new styling tool. I’m pleased on how this iron does everything from straight to curls. My hair stayed straight as a needle all day, without curling up. Don’t worry, fine-haired friends, you can set it on number 15, like I do, and the result? My hair looks incredibly shiny. It feels silky, with zero frizz. I mean it!

This inexpensive styling tool gives me the “salon-like results.” I’m planning on keeping this flat iron for a long time.

This is my “first favorite product of the year.” Feel free to share yours.

All my best,

P.S. My new article will be out soon on Thrive Global. I will be sharing some important
information on how to communicate effectively with your doctor. I will share the link.

Also, I’m sharing a picture of our favorite homemade bread/buttermilk pie! XoXo
