Hi, friends! Today, we are going to talk about food allergies and food labels.
Every year, millions of Americans have life-threatening reactions to food. As many of you already know, I suffer from a peanut/ tree nuts allergy. My mission is to help people with food allergies, especially those who are newly diagnosed, by providing them with support and the latest studies.

“GLUTEN FREE”

Let’s talk about gluten. My heart goes out to those who suffer from Celiac disease, or simply have a gluten intolerance. It’s not easy for them, to say the least.

Having said that, am I missing something? Is gluten intolerance the only food allergy on our planet? Every time I go to the grocery store, I notice that seemingly every item has “gluten free” written in large letters on the front of the package. However, I recently purchased a multivitamin at my local drug store and, when I got home, I noticed the phrase “Processed in a facility that processes tree nuts” in very small writing. I was frustrated.

Hello! Have we forgotten that there are other deadly allergies?! Why do I need a magnifying glass to see whether a product contains, or was processed in a facility with, peanuts and tree nuts, but I can tell if it is gluten free from a mile away?In my opinion, it’s all about marketing. Gluten-free foods are a huge trend right now. So, to ensure that a product is sold fast, companies are throwing a big “gluten free” label on the front of the package.

There is a lot of work to do. Through Thrive Global and social media, my voice will be heard. I will keep you posted.

They should put the allergies in bold, larger text, and highlighted!
