Hello, hello! The Holidays are almost here!

Update: I just posted the link for the shoes. 🙂

I just can’t believe how beautiful the weather has been in South Texas! It feels like summer today. It does not seem like Christmas is less than a month away.

We had an unusually early fall, with cold temperatures and never-ending rainy days. So, it is unbelievable how nice the weather turned out to be in the recent weeks. The holiday decorations are up around the house, but it looks and feels like summer outside. I already brought out the winter clothing, but I guess I did that too soon.

Christmas is still a few weeks away, and the parking lot at the mall is already super crowded. I’m shopping in advance to avoid the last minute rush at the department stores. Even though I prefer
to do most of my shopping online, you can’t always find what you are looking for, and are forced to go to the mall. For many, Christmas shopping is already in full swing. On Saturday morning, just a few minutes before opening, our local Ulta store had a long line of people waiting outside.

People are super stressed out right now, trying to find that perfect gift. I always discuss in my articles the importance of keeping the stress levels low, and it is because of stress that I felt the need and the urgency to write another article at the last minute. I was actually going to take a break, and resume writing after the holidays.

So, it happened four days ago! The Great North Apparel published my picture on their page! The first hour right after my picture was live on their page, I already had one thousand likes. It was
unbelievable. Right before Christmas, I will do another photo shoot for the company. They are a lot of fun. These Instagram influencers are the thing on social media nowadays.

Speaking of fashion, this beautiful pair of Converse shoes that I’m wearing are from my favorite fashionista, Chiara Ferragni.

I will chat with you soon. Thank you for reading my blog. Be sure to leave a comment below. I may do a give away soon. But first,  do the following: leave a  comment  when I update my blog,  and follow me on Instagram @ ionunzia Thx! It will be fun!

How was your Thanksgiving?!
Last weekend was such a productive weekend. I have been super busy finishing my latest article called “Christmas is Here Again.” It will be out right before the holidays. I hope you enjoyed reading my latest one,” In the Moment,” that came out on November 1st.
Now, let’s switch gears and talk about makeup, shall we?
As you know, over the past few years, I have tried more than my fair share of foundations, from high-end to drugstore products. Some of you may call it an obsession. The Makeup Forever HD Foundation will be in my makeup bag from now, forever and ever.
Not too long ago, as I was strolling around Sephora, I picked up a few samples and absolutely loved the Makeup Forever HD Foundation. So, of course, I bought the full bottle. I highly recommend trying on the small samples first before purchasing any foundations. This lovely foundation comes in a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser and a plastic lid, super cute and light weight.
This is a medium coverage foundation, It’s a great color match, and it blended well with my skin tone. It can be built to a medium/full coverage, which I have done in the pictures above. They were taken for Great North Apparel over the weekend.
This product will last for many hours on your skin, without fading away like other foundations do. What I love the most about this foundation is that it gives you that beautiful, youthful glow. It allows your skin to breathe, and it looks super natural. I have been wearing it frequently, especially for my photo shoots. The results are great. The consistency is a bit thick, but it does not cake on your skin.
With the holidays right around the corner, all of us are ready to have that perfect “photo shoot” face. I would definitely recommend this foundation to all the ladies out there, of all ages. I must and will give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

Being productive
Although I love to relax on weekends and snuggle up with my fur baby, I also love to feel productive by completing all my tasks. My query about my new article has been sent to the editors. My photo shoot for the Great North is done. Now, all I have to focus on is Thanksgiving. Needless to say, I’m happy that my “to do” list on my phone is getting shorter. We all have that list on our phones. Every day, but especially during the holidays, I thank God for Siri. I don’t know what I would do without her reminders during this busy time. Do people still write reminders down? We can just as easily put our fancy phones to work for us!
Thanksgiving
Even though it is not officially Thanksgiving yet, there is a festive holiday air flowing around. Yesterday morning, my husband and I completed our holiday grocery shopping together. Ever since we have been married, we have gone holiday shopping together. This year, we implemented a few changes in our tradition: we changed our menu.
Instead of cooking the traditional turkey, we decided to roast a few whole chickens for our guests. Along with that, we are going to be serving ham. The side dishes will remain the same, to keep the stress level low. You do not want to be overloaded with work on Thanksgiving.
I’m planning on baking all the pies on Wednesday. I will be serving a traditional pumpkin pie, along with a chocolate pumpkin pie. I’m going to try to accomplish as much as possible on Wednesday. I may even do a blowout for my hair on that day. On Thanksgiving Day, dry shampoo will go a long way.
Don’t skip your workout
I hear you! All of us are going to be super busy cooking and entertaining for most of this week, but even if you don’t have a whole hour, it is important to get some exercise.
I love “Yoga with Adrianne.” So, this morning, I have a quick yoga session on my phone called “Yoga for the Brain.” Doing this will make me feel happy and energetic all day.
I was very proud of myself today. I was able to work out with a sore knee. I will find out soon if I need another knee surgery.
Thanks for reading this. We will chat soon.
Until then, happy Thanksgiving to all!

Looking back on Election Day
We don’t always get what we want out of life. All we can do is try, but things don’t always go in our favor.

I was very optimistic about this election. One of the candidates running for a seat at the Senate got a lot of attention from all over America, especially from many celebrities. They took to social media to encourage their followers to vote for this particular candidate. So, I did that. Did he win the seat at the Senate? The answer is “no,”  but there is always the next election. I hope all of you had a chance to vote.

I had such a great Election Day. My friend Kelly and I went for an early upper body workout at our local health club. Afterward, despite the long line, I went to do my duty as a citizen. I visited the polls.

Ok, I want my blog to be a happy place for all of you! I always promote and share positive things and thoughts. However, sometimes in life, we seem to encounter people who, for various reasons, are not very happy and positive. I’m sharing this great quote from my latest article, “In the Moment:”

The Dalai Lama wrote a book called The Art of Happiness. In it, the Dalai Lama said this:
“Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions.

At the voting location we chose, I was busy scanning the room. I always do that. It is just an old habit that I learned while growing up in a big city. I noticed one of the volunteers in charge of checking drivers licenses getting annoyed with the voters. She appeared to be very stern, and not very friendly. A gentleman went up to ask her a question and, with a negative and unpleasant attitude, she told him to go somewhere else and just wait. Let us not forget that the majority of the voters were coming to vote straight from work.

It was frustrating to watch. Why can’t we get along? Why do people choose to volunteer, but have a negative attitude? As I mentioned in my article, being grumpy nowadays seems to be the “new classy”. Needless to say, regardless of the grumpy volunteer, it turned out to be a great day.

The latest rumors on the web say that Beto may run for President in 2020. Time will tell. Until the next election, America. How was your election day? Share your comments below.

Claudio sends his love!

P. S. I discovered another foundation that I’m currently using. As many of you know, I have been on the hunt to find “that perfect foundation.” Stay tuned! Also, be sure to read my new article “In the
Moment.”
Thanks for reading. I will chat with you soon!

Rambling about current events
Hello, hello, hello! I’m happy to announce that “In the Moment,” my new article, was just published on Thrive Global. The joy that I feel every time one of my articles gets published is unwavering. Every single time I get that e-mail from the editor stating that “your article is now live on Thrive Global,” I want to dance, run all over the house, and text everyone that I know to share the great news. That feeling immediately awakens my inner child, something we all have inside us. It is something that, after work, family, and responsibility, we all forget about.
So, yes, it is a huge boost of “I can do this” happiness. Self confidence.
Always achieve
During my years working in education, I always reminded my students to believe and achieve in life. Here I am, at my age now, still striving to achieve new goals and follow dreams. One of my current goals is to be published by The New York Times or the The Washington Post. I got close two months ago. The Washington Post liked one of my queries.
I’m the happiest when I am working on multiple projects. Without any projects, I feel restless and unhappy. I guess our brains are programmed to need work in order to feel happy? Who knows? Maybe that will be a new article someday. Maybe, with the help of my friend, psychologist Dennis Ramos, we will be able to understand more on that.

As for now, I’m currently, working on a new article that I feel very passionately about, and I can’t wait to share it with the world. It is called “How Loneliness and Depression is Affecting our Elderly.” Yes, I know, it is certainly a sad subject.

What we might think is a normal part of the aging process may not be normal at all, according to the CDC. To help our elderly be happier in their golden years, there are some stigmas we, as a society, need to understand and change. I was surprised by what I learned.

Stay tuned. I will submit that article after the holidays.

Halloween
I hope everyone had a great Halloween. I did not get a chance to dress up, but I will do so next year. I promise!
We certainly had an awesome time, just us as a family, blasting Halloween music while my husband grilled some delicious steaks. The perfect holiday atmosphere flowed all through the house. I also made our favorite Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread, a Halloween tradition of ours.
Okay, it is time to wrap things up and go on with my day. Leave a comment below to share some of your favorite Halloween traditions.

Thanks for reading, talk to you soon!
